Call to Worship

(Scripture to set a tone for worshipping the Lord):

I love you, Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock,
my fortress, and my deliverer,
my God, my rock where I seek refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation,
my stronghold.
-Psalm 18:1-2

Worship In Song

Because He Lives (Amen)

I believe in the Son
I believe in the risen One
I believe I overcome
By the power of His blood

(CHORUS)
Amen, Amen
I’m alive, I’m alive
Because He lives
Amen, Amen
Let my song join the one that never ends

Because He lives

I was dead in the grave
I was covered in sin and shame
I heard mercy call my name
He rolled the stone away

(CHORUS)

Because He lives
I can face tomorrow
Because He lives
Every fear is gone
I know He holds my life my future in His hands

(CHORUS x2)

Because He lives
Because He lives

Wholly Yours

I am full of earth.
You are heaven’s worth.
I am stained with dirt,
Prone to depravity
You are everything
That is bright and clean
The antonym for me
You are divinity

(PRE-CHORUS)
But a certain sign of grace is this
From the broken earth
Flowers come up
Pushing through the dirt

(CHORUS)
You are holy, holy, holy.
All heaven cries, “Holy, holy God.”
You are holy, holy, holy.
I want to be holy like You are.

You are everything
That is bright and clean
And You’re covering me
With Your majesty

(PRE-CHORUS)

But the harder I try
The more clearly can I
Feel the depth of our fall
And the weight of it all.
And so this might could be
The most impossible thing:
Your grandness in me making me clean.

Glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah

(CHORUS)

So here I am, all of me
Finally everything
Wholly, wholly, wholly
I am wholly, wholly, wholly
I am wholly, wholly, wholly, Yours

Here I am, everything
Finally, all of me

I am full of earth and dirt and You

In Christ Alone

In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid Ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe.
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.

The Reading Of God’s Word

Matthew 12:38-45 (Joe Cassel)

Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.”
39He answered them, “An evil and adulterous generation demands a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40For as Jonah was in the belly of the huge fish three days and three nights, so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights. 41The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at Jonah’s preaching; and look—something greater than Jonah is here. 42The queen of the south will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and look—something greater than Solomon is here.43“When an unclean spirit comes out of a person, it roams through waterless places looking for rest but doesn’t find any. 44Then it says, ‘I’ll go back to my house that I came from.’ Returning, it finds the house vacant, swept, and put in order. 45Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and settle down there. As a result, that person’s last condition is worse than the first. That’s how it will also be with this evil generation.”

Songs Of Response

Though You Slay Me

I come, God, I come
I return to the Lord
The one who’s broken
The one who’s torn me apart
You struck down to bind me up
You say You do it all in love
That I might know You in Your suffering

(CHORUS)
Though You slay me
Yet I will praise You
Though You take from me
I will bless Your name
Though You ruin me
Still I will worship

Sing a song to the one who’s all I need
My heart and flesh may fail
The earth below give way
But with my eyes, with my eyes I’ll see the Lord
Lifted high on that day
Behold, the Lamb that was slain
And I’ll know every tear was worth it all

(CHORUS)

Though tonight I’m crying out
Let this cup pass from me now
You’re still all that I need
You’re enough for me
You’re enough for me

(CHORUS)

Sing a song to the one who’s all I need
Sing a song to the one who’s all I need

Revelation Song

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Holy, holy is Thee
Sing a new song to Him who sits on
Heaven’s mercy seat (x2)

(CHORUS)
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty
Who was and is and is to come
With all creation I sing praise to the King of kings
You are my everything and I will adore You

Clothed in rainbows of living color
Flashes of lighting rolls of thunder
Blessing and honor strength and glory and power be
To You the only one who’s King

(CHORUS)

Filled with wonder awestruck wonder
At the mention of Your name
Jesus Your name is power, breath and living water
Such a marvelous mystery
Oh, You’re worthy, mystery
You are worthy

(CHORUS)

Worship Through Giving:

Those who call Engage home are encouraged to worship through giving. In order to ensure minimal contact, those giving by cash or check are encouraged to drop in the bucket on the back table (not the garbage bucket) discreetly as they depart. Benediction

(A word of closing blessing from Holy Scripture)

Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.
-Revelation 20:6
