Call To Worship

(Scripture to set a tone for worshipping the Lord):

Above all, put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. And let the peace of Christ, to which you were also called in one body, rule your hearts. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell richly among you, in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
-Colossians 3:14-17

Worship In Song

Rejoice

Come and stand before your Maker
Full of wonder, full of fear
Come behold His power and glory
Yet with confidence draw near
For the one who holds the heavens
And commands the stars above
Is the God who bends to bless us
With an unrelenting love

(CHORUS)
Rejoice, come and lift your hands and
Raise your voice, He is worthy of our praise
Rejoice, sing of mercies of your King
And with trembling, rejoice
We are children of the promise
The beloved of the Lord
Won with everlasting kindness
Bought with sacrificial blood
Bringing reconciliation
To a world that longs to know
The affections of a Father
Who will never let them go

(BRIDGE)
All our sickness, all our sorrows
Jesus carried up the hill
He has walked this path before us
He is walking with us still
Turning tragedy to triumph
Turning agony to praise
There is blessing in the battle
So take heart and stand amazed
Rejoice, when you cry to Him He hears
Your voice, He will wipe away your tears
Rejoice, in the midst of suffering
He will help you sing…

Come Thou Fount

Come Thou Fount of every blessing
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace
Streams of mercy, never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet
Sung by flaming tongues above
Praise the mount, I’m fixed upon it
Mount of God’s redeeming love

Here I raise my Ebenezer
Hither by Thy help I’ve come
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure
Safely to arrive at home
Jesus sought me when a stranger
Wandering from the fold of God
He, to rescue me from danger
Interposed His precious blood

Oh, to grace how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be
Let Thy grace, Lord, like a fetter
Bind my wandering heart to Thee
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it
Prone to leave the God I love
Here’s my heart, Lord, take and seal it
Seal it for Thy courts above
Here’s my heart, Lord, take and seal it, Seal it for thy courts above

Gloria

I Sought for the Kings, And delivered me, from my lonely fears
They looked unto him, and they would attend
And all their faces, were made unashamed
Gloria (x4)

(CHORUS)
O taste and see, that the Lord is good
All you people, all you saints, all you children of the King
(Repeat)

I sought for the king, and he heard me
And delivered me, from my lonely fears
They looked unto him, and they would attend
And all their faces, were made unashamed
Gloria (x4)
(CHORUS)

The Reading Of God’s Word

Matthew 17:24-27 (Stephanie Chong)

When they came to Capernaum, those who collected
the temple tax approached Peter and said, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the temple tax?”
“Yes,” he said.

When he went into the house, Jesus spoke to him
first, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do earthly
kings collect tariffs or taxes? From their sons or from strangers?”
“From strangers,” he said.

“Then the sons are free,” Jesus told him.  “But, so we
won’t offend them, go to the sea, cast in a fishhook, and
take the first fish that you catch. When you open its
mouth you’ll find a coin. Take it and give it to them for me and you.”

Songs Of Response

How Deep The Fathers Love For Us

How deep the Father’s love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the man upon a cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my Ransom

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom
Yet, this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Jesus Paid It All

I hear the savior say
Thy strength indeed is small
Child of weakness, watch and pray
Find in me thine all in all

(CHORUS)
Jesus paid it all
All to him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow

Lord, now indeed I find
Thy power and thine alone
Came and changed the lepers spots
And it melt the heart of stone

And when before the throne
I stand in him complete
Jesus died my soul to save
My lips shall still repeat

(CHORUS 2)
Jesus paid it all
All to him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow

He washed it white as snow
He washed it white as snow

(BRIDGE)
Oh, praise the one who paid my debt
And raised this life up from the dead
Oh, praise the one who paid my debt
And raised this life up from the dead (4x Repeat)

(ENDING)
Jesus paid it all
All to him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow

Worship Through Giving:

Those who call Engage home are encouraged to worship through giving. In order to ensure minimal contact, those giving by cash or check are encouraged to drop in the bucket on the back table (not the garbage bucket) discreetly as they depart. Benediction

(A word of closing blessing from Holy Scripture)

To the weak I became weak, in order to win the weak. I have become all things to all people, so that I may by every possible means save some. Now I do all this because of the gospel, so that I may share in the blessings.
1 Corinthians 9:22-23
