Call To Worship

(Scripture to set a tone for worshipping the Lord):

Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth;
sing praise to the Lord, Selah
to him who rides in the ancient, highest heavens.
Look, he thunders with his powerful voice!
Ascribe power to God.
His majesty is over Israel;
his power is among the clouds.
God, you are awe-inspiring in your sanctuaries.
The God of Israel gives power and strength to his people.
Blessed be God!
-Psalm 68:32-35

Worship In Song

The Lion And The Lamb

He’s coming on the clouds
Kings and kingdoms will bow down
And every chain will break
As broken hearts declare His praise
For who can stop the Lord Almighty

(CHORUS)
Our God is the Lion, The Lion of Judah
He’s roaring with power, And fighting our battles
And every knee will bow before Him
Our God is the Lamb, The Lamb that was slain
For the sins of the world, His blood breaks the chains
And every knee will bow before the Lion and the Lamb
Every knee will bow before Him

So open up the gates
Make way before the King of kings
The God who comes to save,
Is here to set the captives free
For who can stop the Lord Almighty

(BRIDGE)
Who can stop the Lord Almighty,
Who can stop the Lord Almighty (repeat)

Be Thou My Vision

Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best thought, by day or by night
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light

Be Thou my wisdom, be Thou my true Word
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord
Thou my great Father, and I Thy true son
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise
Thou mine inheritance, now and always
Thou and Thou only, the first in my heart
High King of heaven, my Treasure Thou Art

High King of heaven, when victory won
May I reach heaven’s joys, O bright heaven’s sun!
Heart of my own heart, what ever be – fall
Still be my vision, O ruler of all!

Lord I Need You

Lord, I come, I confess
Bowing here I find my rest
Without You I fall apart
You’re the One that guides my heart

(CHORUS)
Lord I need You, Oh, I need You
Every hour I need You,
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

Where sin runs deep Your grace is more
Where grace is found is where You are
And where You are, Lord, I am free
Holiness is Christ in me

(BRIDGE)
So teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way
And when I cannot stand I’ll fall on You
Jesus, You’re my hope and stay

My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

The Reading Of God’s Word

Matthew 22:15-20 (Erin He)

15Then the Pharisees went and plotted how to trap him by what he said. 16So they sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians. “Teacher,” they said, “we know that you are truthful and teach truthfully the way of God. You don’t care what anyone thinks nor do you show partiality. 17Tell us, then, what you think. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”
18Perceiving their malicious intent, Jesus said, “Why are you testing me, hypocrites? 19Show me the coin used for the tax.” They brought him a denarius. 20“Whose image and inscription is this?” he asked them.
21“Caesar’s,” they said to him. Then he said to them, “Give, then, to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” 22When they heard this, they were amazed. So they left him and went away.

Songs Of Response

Take My Life and Let it Be

Take my life and let it be
Consecrated Lord, to Thee
Take my moments and my days
Let them flow in ceaseless praise
Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of thy love
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for thee

Take my voice and let me sing
Always only for my King
Take my lips and let them be filled
With messages from thee
Take my silver and my gold
Not a mite would I withhold
Take my intellect and use
Every power as you choose

(CHORUS)
Here am I, all of me
Take my life, its all for Thee

Take my will and make it Thine
It shall be no longer mine
Take my heart it is Thine own
It shall be thy royal throne
Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At your feet its treasure store

Take myself and I will be ever only, all for Thee
Take myself and I will be ever only, all for Thee

Take my life and let it be consecrated Lord, to Thee

In Tenderness

In tenderness He sought me
Weary and sick with sin
And on His shoulders brought me
Back to His fold again
While angels in His presence sang
Until the courts of heaven rang

(CHORUS)
O – o – oh the love that sought me!
O – o – oh the blood that bought me!
Oh the grace that brought me to the fold of God
Grace that brought me to the fold of God

He died for me while I was sinning
Needy and poor and blind
He whispered to assure me:
“I’ve found thee; thou art Mine”

I never heard a sweeter voice
It made my aching heart rejoice
Upon His grace I’ll daily ponder
And sing anew His praise

With all adoring wonder
His blessings I’ll retrace.
With all adoring wonder
His blessings I’ll retrace.

It seems as if eternal days
Are far too short to sing His praise

Worship Through Giving:

Those who call Engage home are encouraged to worship through giving. In order to ensure minimal contact, those giving by cash or check are encouraged to drop in the bucket on the back table (not the garbage bucket) discreetly as they depart. Updates and Announcements

As COVID cases begin to increase with the cold weather, we’re working to figure out contingency plans that will help maintain safety while also being good neighbors to the at-risk. This means two things:

1. November 29th Community Meal: CANCELED

We’ll host a digital member’s meeting @ 10am that day and post a short devotional video on our social media channels.

2. Stay informed: As we continue to make plans to navigate the cold months, please follow us on FaceBook, Instagram, and Youtube (@EngageAlbany on each) as well as signing up for our mailing list (in hallway or by emailing engagealbany@gmail.com)

We are currently in discussions about a possible purchase of property on Central Ave. Keep this in prayer as it will be key to furthering our mission of reaching and serving our neighbors for Christ.

Benediction

For every one of God’s promises is “Yes” in him. Therefore, through him we also say “Amen” to the glory of God. Now it is God who strengthens us together with you in Christ, and who has anointed us. He has also put his seal on us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a down payment.
-2 Corinthians 1:20-22
