As we work to plan our next Fifth Sunday Respite, we’re going to do some baptisms. Jesus invites all those who trust in him for salvation to follow him in baptism as a step of obedience after belief.
In his own words: “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
The order that Jesus has specified for those following him is belief then followed by baptism in obedience.
